ABOUT LACONA XIV

LACONA “Lasers in the Conservation of Artworks” is the International Conference on advances in photonic techniques for the diagnosis and conservation-restoration of cultural heritage. Since 1995, LACONA has brought together researchers, conservators and restorers from public institutions and private enterprises to discuss

CONFERENCE TOPICS

Heritage sciences are undeniably a transdisciplinary domain. Photonics for the safeguarding of cultural heritage currently offers a large set of modern tools and methods, precise, versatile, functional in the most varied conditions and which can often provide results through non-contact methods on fragile, precious surfaces or which do not

CONFERENCE TOPICS

Photonics for safeguarding cultural heritage includes nowadays a large set of tools and methods, such as: laser ablation, photothermal treatments, X ray-UV-Vis-IR-THz spectroscopy, LIPS/LIBS and Raman spectroscopy, 2D/3D/4D modeling, multispectral and iperspectral imaging; interferometry and holography, photoacoustics, LDV, and other. In recent years, photon sources and sensors have experienced significant innovations driven by the impressive development of the semiconductor, fiber, and microelectronic technologies, which have allowed to rise
